Broadstairs town

- a great place to visit, whatever the weather!

Broadstairs, Kent, with its quaint fishermen's cottages, cliff top promenade and seven beautiful sandy beaches, is wonderfully unpretentious and unspoilt, so it is easy to see how the town attracted and inspired Charles Dickens, who spent many holidays here. Visit Dickens House Museum, on Victoria Parade, the contents of which commemorates the novelist's association with the town.

Located at the tip of north-east Kent, sandwiched between the neighbouring towns of Margate and Ramsgate. these three towns are collectively called the Isle of Thanet.

The High Street, and its offshoots, is a great place to shop or unusual gifts or a special treat, and two excellent ice cream parlours, famous for their delicious homemade ice-cream and great coffee are good places to sit and recharge your batteries.

The nightlife in Broadstairs is lively and varied. There are many pubs and bars, some with live entertainment where you can sit to enjoy a drink and a chat, plus an amazing number of town and seafront restaurants - you could almost eat your way around the world!

If you want to find out a bit more about the town and its other famous past residents, visit Crampton Tower, or pick up a Cliff Top Delights leaflet from a visitor information centre (located in Dickens house museum and at Lillyputt mini golf) to discover more about the great buildings and gardens along the seafront.
